With the European Community Trademark you receive trademark protection in all member countries of the European Union.
The protection can be extended beyond the territory of the EU member states by filing an application with the Office for Harmonization. This applies to the signatory states of the Protocol to the Madrid Agreement.
You can only acquire this Community trademark for the entire territory of the Community. It can only be transferred in its entirety, revoked or declared invalid. The situation is different with a license. It can also be granted for individual states or regions of the European Union.
A similarity search of the trademark is carried out separately.
